Congratulations to competition winners

The Jigsaw Trust and RSPCA Canterbury & District win specialist marketing support for 2021

Two ‘ambitious’ charities have been selected to receive specialist story marketing support from STORY22 throughout 2021 after the Kent-based marketing agency ran a competition throughout December.

Animal rescue service RSPCA Canterbury and District and the Jigsaw Trust, which raises awareness and supports people affected by autism, were selected from entries received from charities across London and the south east to receive tailored marketing to support their charity objectives throughout the year.

STORY22 co-owner Sonya Whittam said: “We are really excited to be working with our chosen charities in 2021. We were lucky to have received so many interesting applications and met with some wonderful charities through the process.

“It was a tough decision, but in the end, the Jigsaw Trust and RSPCA Canterbury really impressed us with how they enthusiastically articulated a clear vision for their organisations. They had both taken time to think through how they might be able to utilise our support to further their organisations’ work to maximum benefit. We are looking forward to supporting them throughout the year.”

Keith Aldis, RSPCA Canterbury & District Chair said: “We are extremely thrilled and grateful to be selected to receive support from STORY22. COVID-19 has hit our charity hard, closing some of our shops, reducing income and stopping us being able to reach out to many of our supporters. Thinking differently about how we can connect to our communities and raise the profile of our charity is essential if we are to continue to survive to support animals that are so in need in our patch. We can’t wait to get started!’

Kate Grant, CEO of Jigsaw Trust said: “We are absolutely delighted to have this fantastic opportunity to work with STORY22. Their skills and expertise will bring a huge amount of value in taking our marketing plans forward and setting us up for future success. We are incredibly grateful to Sonya and Julie as well as the whole team at STORY22 for choosing to support Jigsaw Trust and we are looking forward to the year ahead, working with STORY22 on some exciting projects that will enable us to further our impact and help more children and adults with autism reach their potential.

STORY22 co-owner Julie Firth said they had decided to run the competition to try and help support charities hard-hit by the pandemic. Julie said: “Sonya and I are always really invest in the success of the organisations we work with and are passionate about helping people. When we set up the business we both knew we wanted STORY22 to count for something and make a real difference somehow and this competition seemed like the perfect opportunity to use our skills and knowledge in a way that will hopefully have a significant positive impact on the beneficiaries they work so hard to support.”

STORY22 is offering all participating charities who entered the competition the chance to access support with marketing, PR and video with two dedicated webinars in January and February. They will be supported by Christina Bowden of Bowden PR and Chris Newberry of Wildwood Media, who specialise in PR support and film-making for charities. All will be sharing their expertise and offering resources for charities to access.

About RSPCA Canterbury and District

Established in 1962, RSPCA Canterbury and District is an independent branch of the RSPCA. We respond to animals in need across a large part of East Kent, championing animal welfare from the east of Sittingbourne down to the coastal reaches of Dover and all the inclusive towns and villages. We have a cattery and small animal rehoming centre on the outskirts of Canterbury that was built to help to accommodate and rehabilitate the many animals needing care. We have four charity shops based in Herne Bay, Whitstable, Tankerton and Deal, which are essential in contributing towards raising funds for the centre and for us to be a central part of the amazing communities we work with. We work as part of the RSPCA network across the South East so that animals can rely on us to rescue them when they need us most, rehabilitate them wherever possible, provide them with the very best veterinary care and find them new homes.
